Procedure Preparation
Patients having a colonoscopy should follow instructions for either a morning or afternoon procedure.

Fasting for procedures excluding Colonoscopy

Patient to fast from midnight for morning procedure

Patient to fast from 0700 after light breakfast for afternoon procedure
No fluid or solid during fasting period.
If you are taking blood thinning medication/anticoagulation (Warfarin, Plavix, etc) or diabetic medication, please discuss with your Surgeon as the medications will need to be stopped.
